Position: Assistant Quality Pharmacist

The Assistant Quality Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring high standards of quality assurance and regulatory compliance across Harley’s warehousing and distribution operations. The role upholds adherence to World Health Organization (WHO) Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Storage Practice (GSP) guidelines, as well as compliance with local pharmaceutical laws and regulations including the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Dangerous Drugs Act, and related legislation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all warehousing and distribution activities comply with applicable local and regional regulations.

  • Oversee Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems and procedures.

  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.

  • Review and approve batch manufacturing records and product release documentation.

  • Supervise and coordinate the clearing of controlled and restricted drugs from ports of entry.

  • Stay informed on regulatory updates, WHO standards, and industry best practices.

  • Act as Deputy Pharmacovigilance Officer, supporting the Commercial Pharmacist.

  • Conduct regular quality and compliance training sessions for staff.

  • Manage and resolve quality-related complaints, identify blocking factors, and propose corrective and preventive actions.

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management.

 


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Pharmacist.

  • A valid driving license (private car) is an added advantage.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.
